About
BIO
Rut Spence is a country-rock singer/songwriter from Lexington, South Carolina whose music blends southern grit, heartfelt storytelling, and rowdy backroad energy. Raised on a horse farm in nearby Gilbert, South Carolina, Rut grew up hunting, fishing, playing sports, and living the country lifestyle alongside his three brothers and his dad.
His passion for songwriting began early while spending time with his mom and grandmother learning poetry and creative writing. Rut’s mother, Eliza, who recorded beach music and rhythm & blues EPs during his childhood, often brought him into the studio, where he first discovered his love for music.
After experiencing the loss of both grandfathers and the tragic suicides of two uncles, songwriting became an outlet for healing and self-expression. Rut began writing songs at 14 years old and has been chasing his dream ever since.
In 2021, he released his debut single, “His Truck,” recorded at OmniSound Studios in Nashville, Tennessee. Since then, Rut has continued building his sound through a blend of country and southern rock influences, releasing music centered around love, loss, hard living, and good times. His latest release, “Country Boy Certified,” continues to showcase his authentic southern roots and high-energy style. His music is available on Spotify, Apple Music, and all major streaming platforms.
